DNEG's Ramayana work shows how a single studio group can anchor an IMAX epic

DNEG is working with sister company ReDefine on an IMAX two-parter, and Netflix is talking up AI at its Eyeline VFX arm. Both point to work consolidating inside large groups with in-house tools. Worth watching what that leaves for outside bidders.

Group-led VFX and in-house AI

Ramayana keeps a large share of its VFX inside the Prime Focus Group, with DNEG and ReDefine side by side. Netflix is also discussing AI at its own Eyeline studio. This suggests large owners may keep more work and tooling in-house, which could narrow openings for independent studios. Worth watching for subcontract or overflow work.
